It’s been a whirlwind of a month on my end, and I’m excited to share what I’ve been up to: ## **What I’ve Been Up To 📈** - **Finished Semester 1 of Grade 11** and jumped into Semester 2. I’m loving Chemistry, especially the in-person labs; there’s nothing like seeing science in action. - **Started an online Entrepreneurship 12 course** with the Vancouver Learning Network. Online school is surprisingly efficient, and I’m really enjoying the flexibility. - **Been hard at work on my free website course**—the scripts and text content are done, and I’ve started filming videos. Can’t wait to launch! ![Website Launch Academy’s coming-soon page offers an email signup for launch updates.](https://gabrieldalton.com/img/newsletter/january-2025/44869728d1770120.webp) *Waitlist for the Website Launch Academy course* - **Practicing Stoicism** for [TKS](http://tks.world) Velocity (Weeks 7-8), which includes sleeping on the ground, waking up at 5 AM, cold showers, and 3–5K runs outdoors. It sounds intense, but it’s been a great way to build mental toughness. - **Daily meditation on the [Waking Up app](http://wakingup.com)** and **[Duolingo](http://duolingo.com) (Spanish)** practice. Little habits add up fast! ## **Achievements & Highlights 🏆** - **IKEA Challenge Semifinalist**: We didn’t make the finals, but the learning experience was priceless. **Featured on the Ethan Jong Podcast**: It was awesome getting to share my journey and insights. **[Watch here!](https://open.spotify.com/episode/13KunhOM4W8eYKdUywKeJE)** ![Spotify episode page features Gabriel on The Ethan Jong Podcast with the title “Saving the Earth One Line of Code at a Time”.](https://gabrieldalton.com/img/newsletter/january-2025/a824142d0d1fd5a5.webp) *Ethan Jong + Gabriel Dalton Podcast Episode* - **Daily Updates (Week 12!)**: I’ve been consistent with gratitude, workouts, meditation, etc. I even built a website to format these updates automatically just fixed a bunch of bugs, so it’s running smoothly now. [Feel free to check it out!](https://github.com/Gabriel-Dalton/velocity-tracker-tks) - **5,700+ Followers on LinkedIn**: I’ve been more active and it’s really helping me connect with people who share similar interests. ## **Random Thoughts 💭** - **TKS vs. Traditional School**: At TKS, we set tons of goals—long-term, short-term, and “North Star” goals. Meanwhile, in regular school, we sometimes spend an entire class just logging into a platform to write a sentence we’ll never revisit. It makes me appreciate how goal-oriented TKS is. - **Online School Efficiency**: A 6-month in-person course in BC (4 credits) can be done in about 80 hours online. That’s basically three or four all-nighters if you really pushed it and then you’re done! The downside? Missing out on the social aspect. But if you’re more introverted, it might be worth it. ## **Shoutouts 👏** 1. **Thanks to [Arash Naghavi](https://www.linkedin.com/in/arash-naghavi-b907b21b6)** for an epic conversation about everything from university to TKS. 2. **Om & Darien**: You both were a huge help filming my first few videos for [the Website Launch Academy](http://freecourse.oasisofchange.org). Couldn’t have done it without you! ## **What’s Next? 🚀** - **Website Launch Academy** is on track to release soon—free for everyone, everywhere. If you’ve ever wanted to build a site from scratch, keep an eye out! ![Website Launch Academy logo.](https://gabrieldalton.com/img/newsletter/january-2025/9049b53ca337bd97.webp) *Website Launch Academy Logo* As always, feel free to reach out if you have questions, ideas, or want to connect.
