Building, Learning, and Growing—One Step at a Time

## **Hello everyone!**

2025 has been flying by—I hope it's been treating you well!

## **What I’ve Been Up To 📈**

- Finished filming videos for my website course. Now working on formatting, editing, and structuring the entire course.
- Interviewed for a Product Marketing Manager internship at [Formaloo](https://Formaloo.com).
- Wrote an article on web sustainability and optimizing web images for Tree-Nation: **[Optimizing Web Images for Sustainability: A Case Study on Tree-Nation](https://gabrieldalton.medium.com/optimizing-web-images-for-sustainability-a-case-study-on-tree-nation-69893f7cd751)**
- Been reading and analyzing how Starbucks became popular in China as part of a TKS case study.
- Visited Microsoft Vancouver for a mini hackathon focused on boosting employee engagement ahead of the Microsoft Global Hackathon—the largest in the world.

## **Achievements & Highlights 🏆**

- Planted 675 trees in Madagascar through my work with [Web-Ready](https://web-ready.org) in 2024!

![Tree-Nation certificate records 675 trees planted in Madagascar and 33,750 kilograms of CO2 offset.](https://gabrieldalton.com/img/newsletter/february-2025/516b56058d40ef38.webp)
- Doing well in Entrepreneurship 12 and gaining valuable insights as I reflect on my business journey.
- Had a call with the CEO of [Tree-Nation](https://tree-nation.com) about making their website more sustainable.

## **Random Thoughts 💭**

- Found a ton of spelling errors in the online Entrepreneurship 12 course. Makes you wonder how much effort actually goes into educating students on business. TKS is usually well-proofed, though I’ve spotted a few things here and there.
- Mangrove trees are game changers. They protect islands like Madagascar from floods and store four times more carbon dioxide than regular trees.
- Compounding is ridiculously powerful—whether in finance, habits, or personal growth:

## **Shoutouts 👏**

1. [Sofia Castillo](https://www.linkedin.com/in/sofiacastillod) - Had multiple meetings where I got to learn from her experience as a social media influencer. Really insightful!
2. [Philip Galloway](https://www.linkedin.com/in/philipgalloway) - Had a great discussion about sustainability and a possible [Web-Ready](https://web-ready.org) x [Ecosend](https://ecosend.io) collaboration.
3. [Maxime Renaudin](https://www.linkedin.com/in/maxime-renaudin-b225104/) from [Tree-Nation](http://Tree-Nation.com) - Amazing introduction meeting about potential partnerships between Tree-Nation and Web-Ready by Oasis of Change Inc. Also discussed a possible internship!

## **What’s Next? 🚀**

- Launching my [website course](https://freecourse.oasisofchange.org/)—so close to finishing!
- Redesigning the [Web-Ready](https://web-ready.org) website.

I’d love to hear from you! Feel free to reach out with questions, ideas, or just to connect. Your insights are always appreciated as I continue exploring and learning.

Warmly,

*Gabriel Dalton*
